upside-down dreams

[ this poem is meant to be read the way poems are normally read, then read in reverse (i.e. read the last line, then the second last line, then the third last line etc.) ]

daydreams.

we have
unrealistic reveries
we don’t have
the light touch of a silvery pinion
dancing on the ethereal gold of luminescence on
the purity of clouds

a cloud
you dance on
is nothing but a tangle of hydrogen and oxygen molecules
it would be a lie to say that it
will catch you;
it will hold you;
like your magic carpet
through an endless diamond sky

harsh actualities
shatter
multifaceted crystalline dreams

broken aspirations –
from catching
misshapen
fleeting clouds
